As you can see in the table above, the only sections that you really have to prepare for are the mathematics and reading comprehension sections. The other 5 sections of the exam do not count towards your score and are mostly an analysis of your opinions, attitude, learning behavior, and reading ability. Consequently, the below information will concentrate on the sections that count towards your score and really matter.
Nurse Entrance Test Format
3 Reading Score Levels:
(Independent, Instructional, Frustration)- Most students receive the instructional reading level. Only the very best reader’s will receive an independent rating.
The Reading Passages are on a 10th grade reading level.
Composite Score:
Combination of math and reading composite scores will help to determine your “grade level” of these skills.
Reading Rate:
200-450 words per minute with 10th grade level material is normal.
Stress Level:
High scores indicate a lot of stress in your life, that may interfere with nursing school.
Test Taking Skills:
(Independent, Instructional, Frustration)- Basically, how well you take standardized exams.
Learning Style Analysis:
Visual, Auditory, Solitary, Social Categories
